Tokyo Piano Trio UK Tour 2017

The Tokyo Piano Trio was formed in 2013. Outside of Japan they have performed in Vladivostok, Wurzburg, Vienna and Prague. Next year they tour to Seoul and Bangkok. In addition to the core repertoire of Brahms, Mendelssohn and Haydn they are dedicated to reviving the neglected works of Johann Baptist Wanhal whose music they have recorded and have been praised for this by the Wanhal Society.

Violinist Maki Fukamoto studied at the Kunitachi Music College. As a soloist she has performed concertos by Mendelssohn, Bach, Haydn and Vivaldi with orchestras in Japan.

Kei Obara studied cello in Berlin. On return to Japan was engaged by the the Tokyo Philharmonic with whom he performed hundreds of concerts over 10 years.

Miyo Tsurui studied piano at Musashino Musc College. She has won prizes in competitions and gives piano recitals in and outside of Japan. She is a member of the Arenski Society in Tokyo.

As well as Leonardo Leo's La Zingarella their performances will include Schumann's Piano Trio (August 12th and 16th) and Mendelssohn's Piano Trio (August 13).
